Follow these steps to use airtime incentives in your surveys and broadcasts, ensuring optimal engagement from your audience.
1) Check if Airtime is Activated
To get started, make sure airtime is activated for your account or that you have added a valid airtime route. Follow these steps to verify:
- Log in to Your Impaxio Account: Access your account to start the process.
- Navigate to Your Survey Settings:
- Go to any survey or broadcast.
- Click on the "Settings" tab within your survey.
- Check Airtime Route:
- In the "Settings" section, look for the "Airtime route" field.
- If the "Airtime route" field is empty, click on it to select the airtime service you would like to use for this survey. If you see some options, go to the next section.
- If you do not see any airtime service options, contact the Impaxio support team to help you activate airtime for your account.
2) Select Airtime Channel
Follow the next steps to select the airtime channel for each survey or broadcast (make sure that step 1 is completed):
- Select Airtime Service:
- Go to any survey or broadcast and click on the section “Settings”
- Look for the "Airtime route" field.
- If the "Airtime route" field is empty, click on it to select the airtime service you would like to use for this survey.
- A dropdown menu will appear. Choose the airtime service from the available options.
- Select Country
- A field "Receiver country" will show. Select the country where you would like to send the airtime to for this survey.
- A field "Receiver country" will show. Select the country where you would like to send the airtime to for this survey.
- Update Survey Settings:
- After selecting the airtime service and receiver country, click on "Update Survey" or “Update Broadcast” to save your changes.
3) Add Airtime to Your Survey or Broadcast
Once you have selected an airtime route for your survey, follow these steps to specify the airtime incentives for any of your surveys or broadcasts. Note that you have to specify this for each survey or broadcast separately.
- Navigate to Your Survey or Broadcast:
- Go to your survey or broadcast configuration view.
- Go to the Outro Message:
- Navigate to the very last question of your survey, the "Outro Message".
- If you don't have an outro message yet, click on the plus sign (+) to create an outro message.
- For broadcasts, navigate to the the main message.
- Click on the arrow down to expand the message settings.
- Insert Airtime Amount:
- You will see a field labeled "Insert an airtime amount". Add the amount of airtime you would like the recipient to receive once they complete the survey. For broadcasts, the airtime is sent once the broadcast is released.
- Double check the currency on the right side of the field. If the currency is incorrect, go back to the survey settings (previous step) and verify the selected country.
By completing this step, you ensure that participants are rewarded with airtime upon completing the survey, which can increase participation rates and improve the quality of responses.
4) Send Your Survey or Broadcast
Now you are ready to send your survey or broadcast with airtime incentives. Follow these steps to launch:
- Go to the Wave Section:
- Navigate to the "Wave" tab, and click on "Create Wave Plan" to set up the distribution plan for your survey.
- The fields "Airtime route" and "Receiver country" will be automatically filled based on your settings.

- Check Airtime Sent:
Once your wave has been sent, all participants who complete a survey or receive a broadcast will automatically receive the airtime incentive. To check recipients:
- Go to "Waves" in your survey dashboard, then click on "Airtime".
- All airtimes sent for this survey wave are listed here.
